The Great Training for the Marathon Adventure, aka Running for Bacon Part Deux
I start this new series of posts thinking, I don’t know how it will go, but I am hoping they will at least help keep me accountable to my goal of finishing my second marathon next year.
The first time I trained for the marathon I called it Running for Bacon, so here is Running for Bacon, part deux: Running for More Bacon!
Yesterday I finally (I hope) got back on the training wagon. I’m starting slow with a Couch to 5K training program. Then I’ll train for the TC 10K in April, and then the Marathon in October. At least, that’s the plan.
The plan for these posts is to let all you wonderful folk know that I did my run by showing you some pictures I took on the way. I should mention that my runs will all involve running, walking, and picture-taking. Otherwise it’s just not fun. It’s not about getting there fast, just about getting there. I should also mention that since I am working at home for the next 2 weeks, and then will be on holidays, I can actually run when it’s not pitch black out too which is going to help with the motivation to get me started.
On Monday then, I embarked on the first training run for the C25K run/walk. A short one (25 minutes), but it wasn’t raining so I got some good shots.
Like these along the water
Like these of some December trees
And trees decorated for Christmas
The pond (ducks versus seagulls)
Upcoming winter crocuses
And some flowers (I love living here!)
I only went 2K for the run/walk part (I walked an extra kilometre taking pictures), but I did it, and now I can hardly wait until tomorrow’s run!

Gorgeous views, looks like a nice run!
This is fantastic! I will be following your progress with great interest. And I can attest to the efficacy of being accountable to the blogosphere for training. 😉
Now I know I have to keep it up!
Love the idea of mixing in taking photos and noticing stuff as you run. But don’t you find that messes with your flow?
That is my flow 🙂
I am nowhere near being able to finish a marathon, much respect!
Well, neither am I right now. Hopefully by October…
Kudos!
